Installation & Configuration VMware vRealize Orchestrator 7.x

What is vRealize orchestrator?

VMware Orchestrator is a free vCenter feature that helps automate VMware vCloud Suite, vSphere and other virtualization management system processes .

We need some preparation Before stating  :

A) First need to download  vRealize Orchestrator appliance (OVA) from VMware.com.

1) If you have  vCenter or vRA license so vRO  license is not required  .

2) Need to create DNS entries for vRO appliance before the installation .

 

How to Deploy vRealize Orchestrator template ?

Go to  Web Client and right-click on cluster then select Deploy OVF Template. option .

Now click on Local File then  Browse and select the OVA template.

Now give the name for the vRO appliance then select the deployment location path.

Now select the Host or cluster where the template will be deployed.

Check  the details.

Then Read and Accept the agreement .

Next ,  have to select the location and  disk format.

Now , select Network and Protocol.

Now, Customize the deployment properties of the vRO appliance and select Next.

Then review and click Finish .

You may Monitor the status under Recent Tasks.

When the deployment is done need to  Power On the machine.

Once the appliance is deployed, you will be presented with the following welcome page.

Now , Access the vRO Appliance Home Page (https://<IP_FQDN>:5480)

Configure Standalone Orchestrator Server

we will register it with vCenter SSO authentication. select Orchestrator Control Center . Log in as the root account with the password you specified during OVA Deployment.

Under Deployment Type select Standalone add check Host Name is correct then click Next.

Then Choose vSphere for the Authentication mode. Enter the Address of the Platform Services Controller and click Connect.

Now , Accept Certificate to continue.

Enter the User Name and Password of the vCenter SSO Account. Then Click Register.

Now  it will prompt you to enter an Administrators group. provide the name of your admin group and select Search.

Next, open the Orchestrator Control Center and you should now see the new Orchestrator Control Center GUI.

Then Go to Configure Authentication Provider under the Manage menu and configure an applicable authentication provider.

Next, go to Syslog Integration under the Syslog menu and enter enable logging to a remote syslog server if you use one.

Now  the Orchestrator Homepage (https://your_orchestrator_server_IP), select Start Orchestrator Client.

Now ,You may Log to vRO client with the SSO credentials.
